When deciding whether to move to an apartment complex or renting a house, there are a lot of things to consider. Does the house have a pool? Does it have a gym? Will someone be there to pick up your packages if you aren’t home? Apartments are going to offer you a ton of amenities like a gym, pool, valet trash and gated parking that a house isn’t going to have! Here are our favorite things about living in an apartment!
ACCESS TO A FREE GYM
When you rent a house or private listing you aren’t going to have the option to use a gym whenever you want for free. You’ll have to pay anywhere from $30-$120 a month for a gym membership when you could use your apartment gym! Many apartment properties are beefing up their gym equipment and often offer state-of-the-art gym facilities with free classes like yoga and spin. That’s going to save you a TON of money and time because your gym is conveniently located where you live!
LOUNGING BY THE POOL IN THE SUMMER
We live in Texas aka it’s hot, hot, hot in the summers. It feels like your face is going to melt off and you can practically cook an egg on the sidewalk. Hence the need for a pool! Pools are expensive and homeowners don’t want to pay for that kind of upkeep, but apartment complexes usually have one that is free for you to use! Hello, sun-kissed bod! Hello, refreshing body of water! Hello, hotties laying by the pool! Need we say more?
24 HOUR MAINTENANCE STAFF
Apartments offer 24 hour maintenance service and make it a priority to fix any issues you have with your place. They’ll replace your air filters, snake your drain and run out and fix your air conditioner in 100 degree heat if there is an issue. Most landlords aren’t going to be able to get things done in a timely manner because it’s just them and not a team of maintenance workers looking out for you! That’s a priceless service when you really need it!
SECURE GARAGE PARKING
Alright, we know how important your whip is to you. Owning a car or even leasing a car can be costly and you def don’t want anyone messing with it! Apartments are going to offer you gated and garage parking so your car is in a secure lot. Newer properties are even adding security cameras so you have the added security and comfort of knowing your car is safe. Renting a house is going to leave your car open to the weather elements and who knows what else. Why even worry about it when you can leave it in a safe, gated apartment complex?
LOWER DEPOSITS AT APARTMENTS
Most private listings are going to charge you hefty deposit fees that apartment complexes are not. Deposits for private listings are often your first and last months rent which can really add up! Properties are way more willing to waive upfront fees and most apartments are going to charge you as low as $100 for your deposit. That’s going to save you a lot of money and not leave a lot of your cash tied up!
Nobody likes lugging their trash through the cold weather to a dark alley way in the night. Great news! Most apartments offer valet trash. Just put your trash right outside your front door and it magically disappears. AKA someone disposes of it for you! No one is going to handle that situation for you when you rent a private listing.
SOMEONE TO ALWAYS SIGN FOR YOUR PACKAGES
If you are big online shopper (who isn’t, it’s 2016) then you know how bad it sucks when you miss a package. You have to call the post office (ew) and then you have to go out of your way to go get the package. OR worse, someone straight up steals it off of your front porch. NO DEAL. Apartment complexes will sign for your packages and let you know when you get a delivery. You don’t have to worry about anything because there’s always someone there to sign for it!!
