Trail of Lights

The Trail of Lights is part of the essential Austin experience, and what better way to enjoy the extravagant display of lights than with a hot date! With over 40 displays and more than 2 million lights, this would be a perfect date idea to get into the Christmas spirit. Other than the beautiful lights, the trail also features some of Austin’s best food trucks, like Burro Cheese Kitchen, Chi’Lantro, and my ultimate fav: Crepe Crazy! You can also stop by the Ferris wheel for a romantic ride with views of the whole lighted trail and Downtown Austin.
Ballet Austin’s “The Nutcracker”
December 3d- 23d
This date idea is perfect if you’re looking for something a little more fancy to do this winter. You and your date can get all dressed up for a night of ballet at the Long Center, plus the Nutcracker is a classic that everyone enjoys! After, you can head out for a nice dinner and glass of wine. This date is classy AF. And the show is showing all the month of December so you have plenty of time to plan something special!
Halcyon Coffee + Bar + Lounge
Halcyon is a super cool coffeehouse/bar in the warehouse district that serves an array of coffee and alcoholic beverages! This makes for a great date night where you can get awesome drinks and s’mores for two (which is so cute and tasty). The s’mores for two is a huge hit here! They bring you the cutest mini fire pit where you can roast marshmallows and make a delicious snack! They also often host live music nightly, so this is perfect for first dates!!
ZACH Theatre Presents: “A Christmas Carol” and “The Santaland Diaries”
December 1st-31st
If comedy and musicals are your thing, take your date to ZACH Theatre for “A Christmas Carol” and “The Santaland Diaries.” These shows are guaranteed to make you and your date laugh until you cry. It’s always fun to try something new, so even if you aren’t into the musical scene this date would be a blast, and not to mention no awkward silences or trying to come up with conversation because you both will be focused on the show. This is seriously a great date idea if you’re just getting to know someone.
