For those who are looking to live in an area that’s close to all of the best happenings, Oak Lawn is a solid place to start your search. The Oak Lawn community is known for its diverse nightlife. From your Oak Lawn apartment you can walk to retail stores, clubs, bars, and restaurants, or even bike around! For those of you who have a fur baby, Katy Trail is SO CLOSE to Oak Lawn. It’s less than a mile away, so super simple to hop on and take a walk. Stop at Katy Trail Ice House for a beer and head home. Boom, both owner and pup are happy. Our favorite staple is Scardello’s. It’s the best cheese shop in Dallas. Head here for when you need to show up to a party with a charcuterie board to impress… or for when you’d like to watch Netflix on the couch with a cheese plate and a glass (or bottle) of wine. You’re allowed.

Oak Lawn is home to Dallas Pride every September. There’s a festival as well as a parade (with pretty freaking sweet floats), and it’s a must-see for any Dallasite.
