Dallas Apartments: Best Units with Yards

by Audrey Swanson

We’ve got it pretty good here in Dallas. It’s January and we’ve had as many days in the 60s as we’ve had in the 30s, and pretty much every weekend is patio weather. We love it, you love it, and you know your pups love it. They don’t want to be stuck in the rain and snow and freezing temps of *cough* other places *cough* (read: the historic blizzard that’s currently blasting the east coast while the high here in D-Town is 75 degrees).

That’s why it’s seriously worth it to look into properties with yards next time you’re looking for an apartment. Why settle for a four by six concrete balcony when you can have a patch of grass, a tree or two, and a spacious patio to call your own? We think apartments with yards are a solid solution for a tough day at work; you can step outside your back door to play with your leashless dog, lounge on your super trendy yard furniture, and sip a glass of Merlot. We’ve got you covered if that sounds like your idea of heaven.

1) Medical District – 506 square-foot one bedroom, one bathroom for $1016/mo (originally $1,074/mo with $700 off the first month prorated)

From wood floors, to spacious closets, to included washer and dryer, this community offers the best in amenities. Plus, its yarded units are going for cheaper than what a one bedroom apartment with no yard goes for in the heart of uptown. This property is new, centrally located, and, I mean, look at that gorg pool area.

2) Deep Ellum – 613 square-foot one bedroom, one bathroom for $1,183/mo, (originally $1,290/mo with $1,000 off the first month)

This brand new complex is killer and has a crazy amount of beautiful, upscale amenities. It has a Crossfit-inspired workout studio and a hair blowout bar, for crying out loud. Plus, the units with yards are beautiful, too, with a solid amount of grass and patio space for all your lounging desires.

3) North Dallas – 557 square-foot studio, one bathroom for $1,196/mo, (originally $1,305/mo with 1 month free)

Sure, it’s a pretty penny for a studio, but it’s worth it at this North Dallas location. They’ll let you do just about anything with your backyard space – which is about ten feet deep and the length of the unit. You can even plant your grill out there for summer barbecues! This new, stunning property is walking distance to some fantastic dining, drinking, shopping, and a movie theater.

4) Upper Greenville – 796 square-foot one bedroom, one bathroom for $1,430/mo (available mid-summer)

Another recently built community, this property is one more gorgeous spot to live and have a personal backyard, but on a different side of town. You’ll live in the highest scale of luxury and be just a few minutes to Trader Joe’s, HG Sply Co., Truck Yard, and all your other Lower Greenville favs.

5) Design District – 1,207 square-foot two bedroom, two bathroom plus den for $1,665/mo

This property has a bunch of units with backyards, fenced in with plenty of grass area for a good-sized dog to run around and play while you catch some rays. Recently built, the luxury community is located right off I-35 near downtown, so you can get anywhere you want fast while living in style.
